I only have a small retcon this week

We continue toward civilisation. Murmei got a papercut from the old map - the meaning of this has yet to be revealed, but might become important later - when we do the sidequest the troll gave us instead of the main quest.

As we were making our way through the forest, we saw a big snake-type creature coiled around a tree branch, but it completely failed to spot us - somehow - so we decided to leave it alone. It's the type of creature that will pick off people one by one so it can eat in peace, and we didn't much like the thought of being eaten, frankly. Besides, if it hasn't noticed us ... let's just move along.

Moving along, we came across some elves. Elindra talked to them, making sure to name-drop some winter elves we had befriended previously. This made them decide among themselves that we weren't worth the bother killing, so we didn't have to fight them either.

The guide proved so observant we didn't notice we were nearing a cairn until we were almost on top of it. It rumbled and a hole opened up, with a couple of undead coming out of it - the type that would indicate a necromage might be in the vicinity - so we decided to give it a wide berth.

In fact, we made it all the way back to Thistlehold without murdering anything. So, true to form, Elindra decided to change that, by murderising some people that had "our" house under surveillance ...

GM: “I only have a small retcon this week ...”

(we spot a big snake thing, and it fails to spot us)
“How did we not spot THAT?”
“More like how did it not spot US?”

“We’ll worry about that later, when we die horribly.”

(After some elves talked between themselves and decided to leave)
Murmei (casually): “I’m glad they decided it was too much hassle to kill us.”

“What do you mean ‘too much hassle’ to kill us?”
“Too much paperwork. Or the in-game equivalent thereof.”

Elindra: “The war might be coming in your lifetime.”
Valgai: “Thanks. It’s almost like I called it.”

“If it isn’t good news, you shouldn’t be discussing it in public.”

Guide: “Uh-oh. This isn’t a hill.”
Murmei (excitedly): “Is it another arch troll?!”

Valgai: “In other words, I’m tanking the hole.”

Valgai: “I’m gonna survive this trip. I’m gonna survive this trip. I’m gonna kill Murmei. I’m gonna survive this trip.”

“Surely anything inside an old cairn would have already risen?”
“Not a guarantee in Davokar!”

“The NPC has stats?! He’s an actual person! We can kill him!”

“And now the episode of Clue starts.”

Valgai: “Is there a reason you plan to murder them?”
Elindra: “To get information.”
Valgai: “There are other ways to get information OTHER than murder, you know.”
Elindra: “No.”

Valgai: “You monster. You are no better than an elf.”
Elindra: “I take that as a compliment!”

GM: “I can still not understand how this small group consisting of two people suspicious of everything and one that faints when seeing spiders all agreed to be bitten by a huge spider.”
Player 1: “The greater good ... and also to avoid being killed by the emptiness.”
Player 2: “Yeah, that. Void immunity was a strong argument.”
Player 3: “Also the spider was talk first, not kill first. Generally a good sign.”
Murmei: “Everyone is talk first if you don’t start the conversation by stabbing someone.”
Elindra: Technically I start the conversation with stabbing someone, as it encourages the conversation I want to have ...”

To be continued later in the year, but now let's move on to Godbound! :D
