We came across a clearing, of sorts ... It was sort of an island, but instead of water around it, there was a deep abyss and a rickety rope bridge. We carefully crossed the rickety rope bridge one by one and had a look around. Turned out it used to be a village and they all belonged to a cult, and sacrificed themselves.
We found a troll metal sacrificial knife in a sarcophagus, and decided to skedaddle before night would fall. Watching from the other side of the rickety rope bridge, there were ghosts and skeletons and it was like Halloween had come a month early. They didn't cross to our side of the bridge, though, so we got out of there.
And then we found another clearing and a hill with twenty graves on. Eight or nine of them cracked open and we just about managed to fight them off when a bloody Death Prince emerged. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...

Curse your sudden but inevitable ... unconditional surrender?
We went in search of the Winter Court. We found hordes of things to kill ... and once we took care of those, another horde appeared. Okay, so we needed to find the person behind it.
It was another Godbound. From Faerûn, just like us!
Instead of fighting to the death, she decided to give her unconditional surrender - which didn't stop Elani from wanting to kill her, of course.
This woman had been hired by the Winter Court around 1000 years ago to look after a portal, which currently only goes one way: from Faerûn to Auriga. Maybe we can fix it and go back? Not that we're entirely sure what's going to happen, now that she was convinced (by being paid more by us, basically) to abandon her post as guard dog.
Seems like a battle is coming, and Auriga is what they want. Things are about to get very interesting indeed.

This is a really bad idea
We're still in Uncle Bulgaria's lair! We went around to investigate a bit, found a room full of stone statues with bloody shortswords and decided they're probably a bad thing. There was a chasm with a broken bridge, but Elindra was nimble enough to cross it and come around the other side after we blocked off the statue room from the main room.
Murmei was placed by a door, as someone needed to be that side to open it. Valgai and Elindra went to the main room to grab the caraffe. They found a big dude with a skull and a crown that looked eerily familiar. There was an undead next to him, who woke up and wanted his sunstone back.
Fighting ensued. Elindra was mind-hijacked for a bit, Valgai was cursed, but we got the caraffe and eventually got back to Murmei. There was only one thing that could be done with the sunstone, and that was to release the fire spirit within. It was a very good fighter, it's a shame we can't do that one again, and also no more crotch-warmer.
And then the Creeping Darkness came along, and Elindra (now awake) had to leg it back to the spider, followed shortly after by the other two. Big spider was happy, and we could potentially manage to get back to Thistlehold. Maybe.

He wasn't dying a moment ago
We went into some kind of other-dimensional house with a magic lift (elevator) and got stuck in various rooms and it wasn't necessarily all fun and games. Someone came upon a chained-up vampire that he decided to free (because why not?) and another room had a booze collection and Elgar records that simply weren't up to Elgar's usual standard.
And then Florence Nightingale turned out to be a bad guy, because these things tend to happen in M&M. :D

A symbiote is for life, not just for Christmas
First session of the new year, woo! We started by having a chat with Rita, who we found out last time was the goddess Hecate. Or a part of her. Or something like that. She found our party to be very interesting, seeing as how we're such an eclectic mix of people ... and other entities. Booker with his new back parasite, for instance, smelled particularly intriguing.
We brought her along to see Rolf, a.k.a. the guy who hired us to find his "wife" Rita. Booker showed him the list of expenses (which were previously agreed in the contract drawn up on accepting the mission), which was about ten times more than the 100k base fee. After deductions. Well, at least he paid up before Rita killed him.
On the plus side, we made a new friend: a Norse dwarf called Ulmolf, a Runesmith, who is a welcome addition to the group.
Needing to stake out the Crow Bar for a gargoyle called Granite, Booker had apparently misunderstood the instructions for this, so we spent a good long while drinking a concoction which took us to a funky cloud room in the astral plane. This "room" was later destroyed by Baradhi and Gorbash, who tried to find a door out to the normal astral plane. No one has ever been barred from the Crow Bar before, but umm ... we might be the first. Possibly.
We were only meant to stake out the place and wait for Granite to show up, so we could persuade him to give up some information. No need for astral plane stalking. Oh well. While we did that, Gorbash turned into a dwarf and went drinking with Ulmolf and Gorbash. Jayson, who didn't have time to get jiggy with Maria earlier, found some time with her now. Baradhi waited down the road from the bar and when Granite showed up, followed him back to what appeared to be Gargoyle Central. Oops?

You're not rolling particularly high, are you?
Two regulars down but with the addition of an occasionally recurring player, we decided on playing Betrayal at House on the Hill for this session. We were doing okay, and then the little boy turned out to be a traitor (AGAIN - seriously, third time playing this game in the group and all three times that kid's been the baddie!) and summoned a ghost.
The ghost took down three of the explorer characters and the traitor died but there was one guy left standing - who finished off the ghost and lived to tell the tale. Somehow they were making it out to be some kind of feminist conspiracy, because the female characters died first. Methinks feminism isn't a word that means what they think it means.

Introducing Father Christmas with +5 vorpal slay bells
Last week, the Ref had to cancel at the last minute, so we ended up playing the boardgame Eldritch Horror. And, of course, we tend to be a bit too engrossed in playing the boardgame to write things down. Also, we tend to talk about things that aren't particularly funny when written down, such as who should move where and do what.
Instead, have the penultimate instalment of Jurisfiction: Meanwhile in Narnia! In this bit, the agents meet Father Christmas ... and then shoot him with a tranquiliser dart, strip him bare and put Louis in the Santa suit. Oh, if only Aslan would hurry up and get here ...

Beavers and buttheads
After talking to Brian Tumnus in the pub, the group of Jurisfiction agents skipped ahead a few chapters and went to see the beaver couple, to check if they had any Christmas decorations stashed away, or at least knew anything about it. They had, and they did.
Van Helsing and Carmilla, in some kind of Mexican standoff, waited outside the beaver hut while Alice said hello to her idol Lucy Pevensie and her older siblings Susan and Peter. (Edmund was of course off somewhere fraternising with the enemy over some Turkish delight.) Lucy turned out to have more in common with a certain modern female character than anyone could have anticipated - much to the distress of Alice and the players.
Meanwhile, Louis and Long John went around investigating ... and met a nameless dwarf, who had a few things to say about his employer (the White Witch), his lack of a name, and the reason behind the recent influx of Christmas decorations in the book. Louis was kind enough to give the dwarf a name: Louis. Just a shame it won't last.

Why would we sell our friends to Aslan?
We continue the Jurisfiction adventure. We're in Narnia, investigating contraband Christmas ornaments that might be disrupting the narrative. At least if we let it, which we won't, because we're Jurisfiction agents.
Here, the agents meet Mr Tumnus, with his ehhhh interesting wardrobe, and then head off to a hidden pub called the Golden Lion, where Mr Tumnus's brother Brian is having a tea - because you can't get alcoholic beverages in this children's novel. Not even rum.
And Aslan, peh, he's not good for pub business. What with turning water into wine and everything. Bloody cheapskate.

GM Cat's seasonal greetings
Hope you have a great holiday season, regardless of your denomination, and a happy new year! :) We're back with the quotes again next week. Meanwhile, you can say hello to us and GM Cat on Facebook, why don'tcha?
Meta-gaming Blues Brothers kill Jesus
Since the last Changeling session back in August, about five weeks have passed in-game. Alysiana has voluntarily locked herself in a cell while we investigate who she is - or rather, whether or not she's really evil. There has also been time to make snazzy sunglasses, allowing a person to see dark fey, and a prisoner has been interrogated ... albeit not very successfully.
And then a group of angry Redcaps showed up, broke a reinforced gate camera at Jack's place (Wollaton Hall), and tried to get in and, err, cause trouble. And while this was going on, Finn managed to have fallen asleep on a chandelier - because that's the sort of mischief that might happen to a character when their player can't make the session. (We're waiting expectantly for his waking up on Tuesday, just to see his reaction.)
Oh, and Alysiana was given a once-over by a group of Nockers. It made for very fine roleplaying indeed. Could've been another one of them French art films ...
