Is he supposed to be good?

We were supposed to play a boardgame last session but two people couldn't make it, a third one pulled out last minute and since there were just three of us left we decided to cancel the session altogether and have an early night instead.

So, filler post time. This is the second semi-final of Eurovision Song Contest 2015, because that's the filler post I have in stock at the moment.

A quick re-cap: Austria won in 2014, meaning the two semi-finals and one final were hosted in Vienna. Brits don't really care much for Eurovision, but it's a massive thing in Sweden (spoiler: they won ... again) and there are two Swedes in the roleplaying group, so commenting on Eurovision is kind of a given.

This session was made up of 50% Swedes and 50% Brits, in 100% snark mode.

Do you sell disposable shotguns?

We had food again, which Eddie found himself actually enjoying (even though it was a really poncy kebab with green things in it).

We planned.

We got attacked.

At Trevor's mansion decent-sized house, after catching up with Agatha and the woman we kept safely locked up in an upstairs bathroom and sending the latter on her merry way now that she's feeling better, a brain-sucking creature was going to stick its tentacles in Tilly's head, but luckily, Trevor was there to blow most of the creature away and scare off the other one. He needs to find himself some disposable shotguns because every time he uses one, it blows up thanks to the wrath of God.

At Tommy's there was strange writing on the walls and in his wardrobe, a mysterious hat box. With a big stone egg in it that couldn't be knocked over. It was so peculiar that he decided to put it in the bin for safe-keeping.

Eddie called one of his "cleaners" to Tommy's, seeing as how there were some corpses there from last week's session (not to mention this one), and the guys all decided to help - even when the instructions were "here, help me cut up these bodies". Zolistagol appeared to fit into the role of butcher a little too readily ...

Arriving at the rather gory scene, Tilly freaked out so much she went to watch Top Gear on Dave, later uttering things like "the Bugatti Veyron is a good car, apparently".

I’ll take gay Zorro over KKK man any day

Date: 2 July 2011
Game: Mutants & Masterminds
Place: GM’s home

Sometimes we also meet outside of our favourite gaming store. Here's a session of Mutants & Masterminds, where the group was twice the size (12). It's set in the early 1960s, albeit with a slightly different way of getting there. The group of superheroes - and a pizza delivery guy who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time (or he has UNFATHOMABLE superpowers!) and a sidekick wannabe - were out to save the world. With the help of a giant duck dragon.

…We’ll call that ’Desperate Plan Z’

This weekend just past, there was ChimeraCon 3 - a 24 hour roleplaying event at Chimera in Beeston. I only participated in two of the four sessions, but was a bit too tired to write down quotes from session four's Dragonlance: Fifth Age session, unfortunately. (And yes, there were some funny lines from that. When my dotty old man wasn't busy complaining about being cold.)

Instead, these ones are from the first session's Eclipse Phase game, which was a continuation of the story from ChimeraCon 2 in February. This time, the team went to an ice-covered London on planet Earth, where one of the characters found he hadn't died ten years ago, but that he had been forked and was alive and well, and had drunk all the beer ...
